Mighty Mouse maintenance tip
Hi all, My Mighty Mouse fell apart last night. Well, that is, the little band that holds the top and bottom together fell off. I wasn't surprised because I'd prised it off several times over the last couple of years while cleaning out the scroll ball mechanism. Each time I put the mouse back together I'd put a few little dabs of superglue around the band... more »

BT Home Hub v2
I've just started using the BT Home Hub 2 that BT sent me a while back. It's working a lot better than the Home Hub 1 did. Much faster loading of Web pages, no tendency to `just refuse to let me see VersionTracker at all', and that sort of thing. Email's downloading faster - more the rate I'd expect from broadband,... more »

OpenOffice 3.0 full release out now
Seems busy though, so you may have to be patient. [link] Can't get the official site at the moment, but the MU and VT downloaders work.

Questions on posting to groups
Hi folks, Now, lets try and figure this out. Unison seems to colour things in Navy Blue for quoted text, black for the text I am entering in right now. What strategies are you using when replying? Here's what I do: 1. Hit Command R to reply. 2. I move down under the header, selecting the relevant text to snip.... more »

bloom
Anyone tried Brian Eno's "Bloom" app yet? Wonderful little thing. Have just spent a happy 15 minutes tapping the screen of my phone with it hooked up to the stereo making little ambient loops. No, it's not a serious musical tool, but it's great fun and very, well, relaxing. It kind of made me zone out in a way... more »

Works outing
I know there's a not-very-Mac Expo on the 24th at Olympia, and I'm sure sent off for a free ticket. Since which, bugger all. Has anybody received signs of life?

Applescript to change email subject - where am I going wrong?
I'm trying to change the subject line of certain emails that come in [1] and have got myself stuck. I've found a couple of pages: [link] [link] [link]... more »

MacBook phutt
Earlier today I put this MacBook Core2Duo 2GHz to sleep. It wouldn't wake, pressing the power button caused the screen to flash dimly and the optical drive make its noise, but it wouldn't start up. The battery was about half charged. It started fine with the mains adapter plugged in and I was using it all... more »

NewsTap
Has anyone tried this yet? It is a Usenet client for the iPhone/iPod Touch by Alexander Clauss. Isn't he something to do with iCab? <[link]>
