Aloha friend of the aina!
This is a *special invitation* to an upcoming important *Creating
Sustainable Food Systems Oahu Conference* *on July 31*. This conference is
bringing together national and local experts in creating community food
systems who will serve to lay the essential *groundwork leading
toward implementing broad-minded island wide food projects,* i.e., community
gardens, greenroofs, innovative micro enterprises such as greencarts, farm
to institution, and other key initiatives to be discussed.  We hope this
hui, will serve as a catalyst to *help bring Oahu to the forefront in
achieving island food sec*urity, as it most certainly should and could be.

The conference will be interactive with all the attendees and provide for
breakout sessions where *everyone can participate by contributing
their creative and most useful input on the subject of hunger and food
security*. The *outcome of the conference is two-fold;* to set up a Working
Task Force whose responsibility will be to implement the most
productive food project initiatives that emerge from
the interactive discussions, and secondly, to form a Food Policy Council,
whose role will be to help establish policies that support these
initiatives.  *http://leafhawaii.org/?page_id=46*

If you are passionate, and compassionate about this topic and feel you can
provide *positive and collaborative action* on this issue we hope to see
you at this *results-oriented event.* *It is a day long commitment of time**
,* so we applaud you if you are able to come, and we promise an eventful
inspiring experience for your effort. *Seating is limited so we encourage

This sounds like a lot of fun! Would anyone going like to do a little warm-up food chat before?
