Hi,
My name is Amanda Park and I am 17 years old. I was born in California, but currently live in New Jersey. I was born with a condition called cerebral palsy. This condition affects my motor skills and the way I walk. Unfortunately, two years ago I got a virus called transverse myelitis which paralyzed me from the chest down. I was told that I would never be able to walk again. Today, I have defied all the odds, and I walk with the assistance of crutches.
I currently go to a private high school that is very challenging academically. I take fourteen classes daily.
I am very privileged to have been given the right tools, and to be working with an amazing computer consultant; this is why I can be who I want to be and have the dreams that I want. I use a laptop computer in school with specialized assistive software that helps me do my work more efficiently without fatiguing.
I would really love the opportunity to help children and adults with disabilities accomplish their dreams!
