The vast majority of our clients routinely change insurance carriers throughout their time with us.
I understand that we can hide the client's past insurance plans from showing when we go to their Patient Policies screen.
I also understand that once we put in a date in the Coverage Ends box that charges cannot be applied to that specific plan (after the coverage end date.)
However, putting in a date in the Coverage End box and also hiding the plan does not effect what appears in the drop down Payor choice via the Daysheet Credit screen. So when a plan is completely paid and there are no outstanding charges regarding the terminated plan, the plan still appears as a Payor choice when applying a payment.
I double-checked with Manon and there currently is no way to hide a terminated - completely paid - plan where it will not appear as a Payor choice when applying a payment.
This may seem trivial, however our clients change plans so often that more and more often their current plan does not automatically appear in the Payor window. Instead we have to manually scroll down to find the current plan (Payor.)
So I was wondering if anyone else would like the ability to hide terminated - completely paid - plans where they would not appear as a Payor choice (via the Daysheet Credit screen.)
Any interest?
Thanks :-)

Well, it certainly looks like there is sufficient interest, however,
it cannot be implemented quite as Deanna described it. You can post a
payment to a payor that has no current balances by using the More
Splits feature. As a result, we would be shooting ourselves in the
foot with that criterion. That could even include a policy that
terminated prior to today. We'll think about it though. Perhaps it
would be enough to flag the terminated policies somehow and move them
to the bottom of the drop list? They would be out of the way for
normal posting, but still available if you needed to use them. How
about that?
