Does anyone have access to the Vis Bucks, there is evidently a pedigree for Montgomery of Sherrington there and I'd very much like to see it.
I have a feeling, that's all it is right now, that we have more descents from the Smith family of Withcotes. I need however to see it state clearly that Anne Montgomery is the daughter of Anne Smith (or even "Miss" Smith)

The pedigree of Montgomery of Sherington in the 1634 Visitation of Bucks (HSP v. 58) is very short (3 generations or so) and does not mention an Anne Montgomery or any Smiths.
You might find something on this family in Lipscomb's "History and Antiquities of Buckinghamshire".

says that Anne Montgomery, dau of Sherrington married Richard Halford of Edith Weston
The time periods involved *could* make these two fit together and it would be easy to see how a daughter could be named "Anne" after her mother BUT these too much missing here to be absolutely sure.
John Hunt of Lyndon, co Rutland (d 17 Mar 1585/6) by his wife Amice Cave "Amy" "Anne" (Bur 3 Jun 1599 at Lyndon) had at least or exactly eight children.
Amice Cave is a Cecil 3 so the below document is very interesting. Evidently these are, at least part of, the family reps 30 years later.

Look at this, this is very exciting. I'm sure we all agree that the Anne widow above *must* be Anne (Hasellrigg) Hunt below in Vis Rutland 1618-9 Hunt

FWIW, the pedigree I cited ends with the following individual: "Sherington Montgomery a da. and h." [sic]. It was not immediately clear to me whether "da. and h." referred to Sherrington (the British do have a quirk of using surnames as given names even for their daughters!) or to his daughter. But perhaps the "da. and h." refers to the Anne who mar. Richard Halford.
Sherington [sic] is shown as the child of William Montgomery of Sherington and his wife Margaret, dau. of Robert Belcher of Lamport, Lancashire. William is shown as the son of Michael Montgomery of Sherrington [sic].

Thanks yes. My issue isn't with who the father was, but rather who the MOTHER was. :)
