Subject: Serious solar proton storm
Reports on the usual space media and webpages are that
a number of satellites and space probes in the vicintity of
Earth received moderate upsets and attitude control losses
due to a SPE (Solar Particle Event) associated with the X7
flare yesterday.  No permanent damage reported yet, but a lot
of disruptions.
