The greatest risk for Egypt is a major quake on the Rift fault especially affecting the Aswan dam, then a major catastrophe would be inevitable to Egypt, affecting rich & poor alike indeed. Are some people in Egypt concerned that an early warning system should be implemented in case of the Aswan dam breaking down ??? Millions of lives are at stake in my view and this is by far the greatest risk facing Egyptians at large I am afraid.
Although Mr Azayem is correct in estimating the statistical probability of a known fault located Quake in coming year, his comments of value are those related to the spongy nature of the ground upon which have been implanted towns & this is due indeed to the mode of propagation of "S" type waves, leading indeed to resonance with water logged environment. I doubt though that the population is aware of the risk and will take appropriate steps to offset a potential danger. Right ? Incidentally I have developed a system which can offset "S" waves and which I offer free of charge if some people are interested to hear about it ! You can forward that offer to appropriate authorities is you consider it of interest to Egypt.
Mr Mahmoud on the other hand is completely fatalist and not fit for the structure he is heading. Indeed the signs of incoming quakes can be taught and then perceived by the population at large & the drill of preparedness should be implemented. Rejecting the fault of destruction upon some God is a ready excuse for doing nothing ... and I believe this is what is happening presently in your country. The two positions are diametrically opposed & the terrible consequences of that situation is that opposition of parties leads to neutralisation of good wills
