Subject: [rosacea] Introduction of Dr Darm to your Group
Hello--My name is Dr Darm and I have been treating rosacea
sufferers for the past 10 years--We have performed over 10,000 treatments during that time with the Photoderm IPL and last year added the Genesis ( Nd Yag ) to our protocols--After talking to Dr Soldo and to Drs Patrick Bitter Sr I have been impressed with their integrity, experience and fund of knowledge--I am anxious to join your group to help further the knowledge of the treatment of rosacea- -My potocols are somewhat different than these two very impressive physicians but we have had great success with them and they bear consideration-- The first unique protocol involves concentrated treatments over a short period of time which allows us to get more clearing sooner-- Typically we will perform 3 treatments in one week, 6 in two weeks or 9 in three weeks--This protocol is surprisingly well tolerated and each treatment seems to produce results equivalent to the usual monthly treatments previously performed--Thus far no patient has been unable to complete the protocol--Of course not all of our patients opt for these concentrated sessions--The advantages of course are fewer trips to Oregon, quicker resolution, and the theoretical advantage of reduced angiogenesis ( regrowth of new blood vessels ) between sessions-- The second unique protocol involves aggressive induction of flushing during treatment sessions--This is done to increase the target for the treatment devices being used--Topical, oral and thermoregulatory mechanisms are used to induce the flush--This is closely monitored during the course of the treatment--In our experience this induction greatly enhances the results and especially if there is no target or redness to treat during the initial exam--During the course of treatments we find that it becomes harder to induce a flush using the same methods which gives us an indication of how much progress we are making-- The third unique protocol involves the use of the genesis laser which adds another wavelength to the treatment sessions (1064 Yag)-- While this adds a significant amount of time to the treatment sessions it has helped us to clear more difficult cases sooner-- If you would like to read more about these protocols please log on to www.drdarm.com or email me at drd...@msn.com or call 503-697- 9777--I look forward to interacting with you and your excellent clinicians on an ongoing basis to further the knowledge of treatment of this disabling disease--Jerry Darm MD -- Yahoo!
