Source For Modem Transformers
|
| |
Hello to all and thanks for reading. I am seeking info on a source for inexpensive modem transformers for use in a PSK31 type interface. A few years ago I purchased surplus ones for less than a dollar a piece, now the only ones I can find are $3 to $4 a piece. Any info for these 600 to 600 ohm transformers appreciated.... more »

Hams take note: qth.net/qsl.net: is it just me?

Is anyone else having trouble seeing, or getting mail to, any of the lists based at qsl.net or qth.net? They appear to have fallen off the edge of the 'Net, and DNS for both domains is failing right now for me. Thanks & 73, de

Home made PCB?
|
| |
Hi, I would like to build a PCB board with fine pitch (LQFP32) and very small surface mount parts (1206 and smaller) parts. The board is a simple 24 bit A/D and D/A converter with a full speed (12 Mbs) USB2 interface; although I would prefer the USB2 high speed interface (480 Mbs). The temptation is too... more »

source of crystals for Kenwood transceiver upgrade.
|
| |
Good day all! I have an old Kenwood TS-820 that I've already upgraded somewhat, but I would like to try adding the WARC bands at 10,18 and 24 MHz. The rig only cost me $50 so I was horrified when I discovered that crystals for the job are now priced @ $65 US each + shipping!!! The frequencies aren't very unusual so obviously I am looking for... more »

Power supply

I have a 12volt home made power supply similar to Astron models. I was told it could handle 30A. The pass transistors are missing and I have some 50 amp NPN darlington transistors on hand I was considering using for replacements. Can you think of any reason these could/should not be used. Jimmie

Anybody have a MathCAD, Excel, Scilab or Octave worksheet for designing with the CD4046 or 74HC4046 PLL chips? I'm looking for something that allows one to input desired VCO frequency, offset or center frequency and loop frequency with bandwidth. The worksheet should generate the required component values. I can do this by hand but I have a lot of test cases I... more »

Group Delay Variation - How much is too much?
|
| |
For various transmission types, how much group delay variation can be tolerated in the receiver before it causes problems recovering the original signal? I realize that it all depends ... I'm just interested in getting a rough idea. For example, at what point is: 1) SSB voice reception noticeably affected?... more »
