DON'T BOTHER READING FURTHER IF:
you don't live in the NYC area
the word "dark" scares you
wearing black and/or dark colors is too much of a stretch
you'd rather be playing jazz or funk
you hate electronics
you're a player-for-hire
our future bassist:
- plays 5-string (no exceptions)
- can play by ear with minimal or no notation
- is into effect pedals and/or bass synth
- is completely happy playing with electronic percussion
- can play semi-complex, unusual, simple, sparse, or "lay out"
- can play with a pick - depending on the song
- is into dark, heavy music as well as left-of-center pop and whatever
else
- can commit to a minimum of 2 rehearsals weekly
- has decent gear and is ready to play live
we're looking for someone who can be creative in the context of
something that already exists, and maybe add their own thing when
appropriate. we will be writing new songs, but we have a lot of
finished and half-finished pieces. we need someone who loves what we
do and wants to be a part of it. be intense about music but not a
dick.
serious replies we consider will get links to clips and pics.
give us something to go on. don't just say "send me a link".
bands you might wish you were in: nine inch nails, tool, low,
radiohead, the smiths, my bloody valentine
