Description: All aspects of sailplanes and hang-gliders.

How to suspend a glider?
Hi all, Has anyone out there ever suspended a glider in the air without resorting to the conventional method of airflow over the wings? I have an opportunity to hang both of my Grob 103's in two malls over the holiday season. I am pushing for having a Santa in the back and a Rudolf leaning forward in the front, scarf trailing. Both canopies... more »

Gliding history buffs: new analysis of Lilienthal's accident
For all of you interested in gliding history, an article about Lilienthal's cause of death has just been published, based on a new analysis of the historical record. Classes?
My last less than sucessful post was an attempt to provoke thought about handicapping. I really think the SSA and SCCA have the same problem. Too diverse a selection of equipment and too many classes to race them in. SCCA has spec this , spec that, local classes, national classes, regional classes and even Solo racing, which is racing against nobody in particular.... more »

Would anyone in USA know of a Geier IIB sailplane that was photographed in the southwest many years ago? Is there a Geier in North America? Thanks
