When I use my 1978 Dodge van, (318 cubic inch engine automatic transmission) the longest distance I ever drive round trip is about 14 miles to a veterinary supply store for dog food.The other two places I drive to average (round trip) are 8 miles (tobacco store) and 6 miles (food store).Which thermostat for my van will allow the lowest radiator... more »

Removed throttle body for cleaning.............74973 KM I first of all removed air filter cover..........disconnected plug attached to rubber accordion hose...........to disconnect plug, slide red lock slider on top of disconnect plug backwards and pull plug out...............PS when you reconnect make sure you lock red slider.... more »

97 taurus running hot

I bought this 97 Taurus in good shape with a blown head gasket. put another 3.0L Vulcan in it. It starts and runs fine, BUT it runs over 3/4 the way + to the end line on the heat gauge. I flushed the transplant motor before installation. Put a new water pump on it. New thermostat with giggle valve.... more »

Car eats oil - oil change interval?

2001 Corolla CE; 140,000 miles; city driving, 12-15k/year: Car eats a quart of oil every 300-400 miles (ran it low on oil a few years ago.) I’ve just been adding a quart of 10W30 (hi-milage) every week or so. (I don’t want to spend the big $$ to get it fixed, so I’ll just keep driving it for a while longer, then sell it what whatever... more »
