POETS ONLINE offers you the opportunity to try your hand at writing a poem to our current writing prompt. This prompt will remain posted for approximately one month, during which time you may work on your poem and, if you wish,submit your poem for possible online publication. Write it for yourself, or submit it - and if it is selected, you'll share it with the online world.

We suggest that you read some poems in our archive to get a feel for the types of responses people have had to previous writing prompts. The archive provides a rich selection of writing ideas and models for your writing. 

We hope to have the opportunity to read your responses to the writing prompts.
