Subject: Dr. Greger's Pandemic Update: November 2006
In this first update I just wanted to welcome everyone, thank you for
your patience, and announce that the website http://www.BirdFluBook.org
is finally online.

So now the full text of Bird Flu: A Virus of Our Own Hatching is
available for free, with all of the references hyperlinked, hundreds of
full-text articles online, my speaking dates, contact info, etc. If you
find it a useful resource, please pass it along.

If you'd rather cuddle up in bed with an actual book, though, rather
than your computer, the hardcover is being released in stores after the
November mid-term elections, plenty of time to get copies for everyone
you know for the holidays :). You can also order sneak preview copies
before then from http://www.HumaneSocietyPress.org

All the proceeds I receive from the sale of the book and speaking
engagements go to charity.

My vision for this Pandemic Updates newsletter is to review the
month's news and science of both avian and pandemic influenza to help
people to better assess the current threat. So allow me to let everyone
have a chance to review the book this month and get up to speed, and
starting with my December 2006 update I will attempt to bring everyone
up-to-date with the latest.

If you're interested in having me come speak in your hometown, or
university, or business, or county health department, fill out the
speaking tour request form at http://tinyurl.com/yf4yvs

Please feel free to contact me if you have any comments, questions, or
suggestions for changes in the website or book: m...@cornell.edu, (206)
312-8640.

The goal is to be prepared, not scared.
-Michael
