Our next meeting is on May 31st. The guy who reserves our room at WSU
every month, Ken Cuddeback, will be out of town that weekend so this
is a good opportunity to try a more southward venue. If you feel our
regular meeting location is too far a drive from where you live, vote
with your attendance in May.
We will hold the May 31st meeting at the WSU Davis campus, barely
north of Layton, just off I-15.
WSU Davis is fairly central, about 20 minutes from Farmington and
about 25 minutes from North Ogden. Ken can secure a regular room
there, so if it turns out to be more convenient for more people, we
can make the change permanent.
Aaron Toponce will be presenting on the Linux Boot Process (really!).
Will someone make a flier for the May meeting?
=========================
We could really benefit from a little advertising especially with the
location change. Once that is finished, we will need a few volunteers
to post them at technical schools, WSU, WSU Davis, computer stores,
and anywhere else you guys think would be useful.
The website will be up-to-date this coming week.
=========================
I'm sorry this isn't finished yet; I've been a bit swamped this month.
I built a server fresh for the occasion and will have it online
sometime this week.
Perhaps if the Ogden LUG was listed in key directories interested and searching folks would see it an come...???? Or maybe I simply ran across an old or obscure list, or heck maybe it is there and I just can't read..........

Thanks for pointing that out, Dan. I just sent an email to be included
in that list.
We're listed on the UTOS groups pages but we need to be listed
anywhere we can be. If anyone else comes across anything similar,
please drop me a note!
The new up-to-date website is online. (Three weeks later than I said,
I know.) It's a wiki, so please, please make it your own!
Simple registration is required, but it doesn't require an email
address. It still needs quite a bit of CSS work, but it's functional.
I'll get to the rough edges soon.
Quick reminder that our meeting next week will be at WSU Davis. Please
plan accordingly. My wife is due to give birth on the 29th so there is
a very real possibility I won't be able to make this meeting; if that
happens Kevin will conduct.
There is still a little time to run fliers around. I'd really
appreciate a volunteer to put something together; if there's no takers
I'll try to make one this weekend. I can put fliers up at WSU and a
few businesses around South Ogden. Any volunteers to put fliers up at
nearby technical schools?
I can try and put some up at the Ogden-Weber ATC. Do you want me to make one myself or do you have one pre-made? Is the info needed on the website? Thanks! Joe

Minor problem with meeting next week, I failed to tell you I'll be out of town. I don't know of anyone that will be available on Saturday to let you into the room. I'll do some asking today but not too hopeful.

Joseph, both would be awesome. The new location info is on the site
and the calendar, the presentation is "The Linux boot process. From
power
button to login prompt, including mastering runlevels." Presented by
Aaron Toponce.

Ken. You did tell me well in advance. I secured the room at WSU Davis
on my own. Thank you, though. :)
