In 2001, I went through a stage of taking all kinds of QTVR images after getting a free stitching program from a CD with Digit magazine. Soon afterwards, I bought Apple's QuickTime VR Studio software (which has never been orphaned and replaced by better and less expensive tools like the programs Gareth demonstrated on Tuesday. As you will see, I didn't have one of those fancy nodal adapters for a tripod. I don't own a tripod to this day. And I had a pretty crappy (by today's standard) Olympus fully automatic digital camera, so couldn't change the exposure to match. And I didn't and still don't know Ye Olde Photoshoppe well enough to do the necessary adjusting on screen. Or maybe I'm just too lazy.
Excuses, excuses. Nonetheless taking these were a lot of fun! Prepare yourself for lots of parallax errors.
- B52.mov- Taken 18/07/2001 at Duxford.
- Don and Gerry's Dock - Taken 16/06/2001 at the end of Don & Gerry Smith's Dock on Lake Waverly, Minnesota. I lived next door from 1971 to 1976 and have the most fond memories of my childhood while living there.
- Litlle Waverly Dam - Taken 14/06/2001. Google Map View.
- John Etheridge and Sweet Chorus - Taken 15/07/2001 at Jazz by the Stour in Bures, Suffolk. John Etheridge's site is here.
- Jack Bruce and the Cuicoland Express - Taken 18/06/2001 at the Jazz Café in Camden during their sound check. Guitar - Vernon Reid, Hammond Organ - Bernie Worrell.
- Duxford Air Museum Main Hangar - Taken 18/07/2001. Shame I didn't get some better photos of the SR-71 Blackbird! I must go back!
- Stour Valley Walk in Sudbury - Taken 20/01/2001 on one of the ex-railway bridges over the Stour River in Sudbury, Suffolk.
- The Ship and Star - Taken 1/12/2000 at the Ship and Star. Those present - Jash Jamieson (sporting a very nice parallax error hairstyle), Jon Grandin, and the landlord George Wackett. George and Julia should be taken out and shot for turning this pub into a block of flats.
- Broadway and Illinois Central in Centralia - Taken 27/10/2000. When I was a teenager, this used to be such a busy street.
- Kaha Pass, Near the border of County Cork and County Kerry in the Republic of Ireland - Taken in August 2000. This was the first (and I think last) pano that I'd ever done by using a traditional SLR. I think it was probably one of the last sets of photos I took with my Pentax K1000. Google Maps says it's about here.
