  Er, somehow the following line that appeared here in my original post &lt;br&gt; mysteriously vanished in the reply: &lt;br&gt; Dow when the Democrats gained control of Congress (1/3/07): 12,474 &lt;br&gt; Since it was up in the six-year period that the Republicans were in &lt;br&gt; control of the House, blaiming the drop on Bush is a non sequitur.
