CHARTER:
        KW.EVENTS is a moderated newsgroup for postings from the
        Kitchener-Waterloo region such as announcements for non-profit
        KW public events, meetings of non-profit support groups in
        the KW area.

        - Commercial advertisements are prohibited.

KW HIERARCHY CHARTER:

    The KW hierarchy provides a set of newsgroups as a forum
    for issues of local relevance to the Kitchener-Waterloo,
    Ontario, Canada area.

    For the purposes of this hierarchy, the Kitchener-Waterloo
    area is defined as the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.

    Advertising or solicitation of any sort is prohibited,
    unless *EXPLICITLY* allowed in the individual newsgroup
    charter.

    Newsgroup removal and deletion discussions are currently
    managed within the kw.config newsgroup.  A reasonable
    concensus of local newsadmins is required, otherwise the
    new newsgroup will not propagate, or an old and unnecessary
    newsgroup might not effectively be removed.  This approach
    will lend some order to the creation of kw newsgroups, and
    will help control the onslaught of newsgroup abuse.
