Subject: Help me with proper sentence construction
Hello,

I'm now learning Hindi, so pardon the simple questions.
I want to say "I am feeling very tired." From the little studies I
have done, the best I can do is:

Mujhe bahut thaka lag raha hain

Would something like this be acceptable?

Please stick to roman letters.

Thank you.

Hi Shiv,

I think you've got the sentence correct except for the last word.  The verb is agreeing with "thak", so would be lag rahaa hai.  (No nasalization at the end).  In devanagari it would be है as opposed to हैं, which is what you've written.

Hi,

Thank you for your assistance.

Does "main bahut thaka hua hoon," also convey the same feeling?

Thank you.

Hello,
Given: "I am feeling very tired."
I = मैं (mai.N); am feeling = महसूस कर रहा हूं (mahasoos kar raha hoo.N);
very =  बहुत (bahut); tired = थका (thakaa)
Thus the hindi sentence could be मैं महसूस कर रहा हूं बहुत थका
But the verbal phrase stands in the last of a Hindi sentence. Hence one
would actually say:
मैं बहुत थका महसूस कर रहा हूं |
mai.N bahut thakaa mahasoos kar raha hoo.N
There could be construct variations to convey the feeling, e.g.:
mujhe bahut thakaan laga (OR ho) rahee hai (some sort of passive voice).
This has, I think, no literally equivalent english translation in vogue.
thakaa = tired AND thakaan (feminine gender) = tiredness
Note: 'laga rahee' is used with feminine, 'laga rahaa' would apply to
masculine.

"main bahut thaha hua hoon." is also correct but "mujhe bahut thakan
lag rahi hai" is closest to the meaning.
