How tall is the grass at the Sheepfold right now?  These pictures were taken back in early June.  The grass is much higher now!

The grass is generally over two feet tall, over approximately two-thirds of the area of the field.  In past years, the ENTIRE FIELD has been mowed throughout the summer.

The danger to people and dogs from ticks in the high grass is great.  The mowed areas are so small, it will be difficult to keep your dog from running into the high grass.

Yes, mowing a third of the field has left some area for people and dogs to play.  But with the area so reduced, when things get busy on the next nice Saturday or Sunday, dog owners, picnickers, frisbee and wiffleball players will all be squeezed into the same small area, with cyclists riding through that group.  We all know that hundreds of people come to the Sheepfold on a nice weekend day!
