What to say about me? I'm a theatre major who has only worked on one play at the University (not counting one Shorts where I ran the light board), a historic re-enacting fighter who can't fight because of a broken arm, and a restaurant employee who hates being around lots of food at a time. Lots of contradictions! I've primarily worked with FDA in my time in theatre, not sure why. Though I also enjoy FST...and I do hope to work more with Theatre UAF in the future. Schedules just seem to work out against me being with Theatre UAF...sigh. My biggest hope in this class is to be able to take a script and shape it, with the help of the techies and the actors, into a unique work of art, something with my distinct signature on it. This may prove to be difficult, as I have some difficulty thinking outside the proverbial box; I'm hoping this class will help expand my horizons so I can begin to produce unique works of my own. My favorite playwright is, without a doubt, Shakespeare, though I also like David Mamot and Samuel Beckett. All three playwrights have a wonderful sense of language that I thoroughly enjoy (the actor side of me showing there...).
