I met with Mary Pastro today.  We read the script and talked about Prudence.
 I have been looking for a Male Actor to play Bruce.  I have ask about Eric.  I am
choosing someone that is not in Act 2.  I have asked Tyson Hanson.  He declined
the role.  I have been asking around to everyone if they know of any actors that would
be willing to do my scene.  I am running out of time.  I might do it myself, play Bruce,
and pull a Woody Allen.  I cannot think of anyone who is not freaking out about the
end of the semester.

Success, Brian Lyke agreed to be my Bruce. I did not want to act in my scene.
He almost did not accept the role.  I finally asked him to do it as a "Favor."
I will drop off the scene to him tomorrow.

Tuesday April 21, 2009

I met with both Mary Pastro and Brian Lyke today. 
I had them read the script.  It was their first time reading
together.  We talked about their understanding of their
respective characters.  We discussed floor plan and
a little bit about blocking.  We have not done a block
through, as of yet. 

I scheduled a rehearsal with my actors for tomorrow
after class, Wednesday 6pm; another on Saturday 12:30pm;
and possibly Thursday 6pm, if the Caligari pick up is cancelled.

Final note,  I think both my actors are going to be easy to
work with.  Brian is a big help, since he has taken the directing
class before.  Mary is always on time and focused on the
work we are doing.   I feel confident that it well go well. 
I've asked them to be off book by Wednesday April 28,2009.
They immediately suggested meeting on their own to run
lines together to memorize.  :)

They will be coming to Class on Wednesday April 22, 2009.

I worked with just Mary today.  Brian was busy with class and his other rehearsal.

Mary and I went through and read the scene.  We discussed what was going on

in the scene.  We also talked about what Prudence is going through in the restaurant:

How Prudence feels about seeing Bruce again, who Prudence is in relation to

Bruce,  Why Prudence chooses to stay. 

We also worked on why Prudence says what she says.
