Cat Fight Engagement Props & Costumes - directing

SCENE: CAT FIGHT ENGAGEMENT

Props:

2 Fans- One for each girl to hold. Cecily's fan is pink with flowers on it. Gwen's fan is purple with peacock on it.They would use the fans as their weapons in a sense. It would also express their frustrations as well with the closing, opening, or fluttering of it. Nearing at the end of the scene the fans will be used like swords to battle each other.

Blanket- The blanket will be used for the girls to sit on during the scene. The placement of the blanket will be center stage. The purpose of the blanket is to give it an outside feel like they are in a garden.

2 Diaries- Both the girls shall have diaries. Cecily's diary is a shimmering green/blue while Gwen's diary is a purple leopard print. These diaries to the girls are like part of their souls. They are very important to them because they contain all the important things that happen to them. In the scene each girl will throw the others on the ground which will end in the big cat fight.

Costumes:

Gwen- A silky light purple dress with black high heels. Pearl necklace and engagement ring. Gwen will also have a handbag that she carries her journal in. Then it won't seem weird that she is holding her journal. I wanted Gwen to seem more sophisticated then Cecily and I think this outfit does the trick.

Cecily- A bright blue dress with flowers on it and white sandal shoes. Silver leaf necklace and engagement ring. I wanted Cecily to be the opposite of Gwen in a way by having her seem more girlish and young.

Hey Tiana do you have a handbag that would match the dress and you can fit your journal in. Tricia pointed it out that it seems weird that you are just carrying around your journal.
