Hi If I want to cut the filename from a string with random number of folders within the path, how can I accomplish that ? example : FILE=/usr2/tmp/file$$ FILENAME='echo $FILE | cut -d / -?????????' but the path can change: FILE=/usr/reports/mend/2008/1/ file$$ I need to always get the rightmost word after all "/"... more »

How to grab data from stdout terminal

Hi, I am using solaris and As I know stdout is also file (system file), so it means whatever printed data on terminal should be store somewhere by OS. I want to where the OS stores all this data ??? Assume while launch my script i didnt provide any redirection option store terminal output to some file... more »

I installed MP3 on a client's 6.0 system but had to remove it (by restoring the root file system from the nightly backup) as the RoundTree accounting application failed to run. I have tried variations of the "visionfs client" command until I'm almost blue. I have a share setup on a Maxtor terabyte NAS storage. It uses Win networking for access, so i would like to get the SCO to be an authenticate client to the share. Does anyone know step-by-steo how to get this too work? Thanks,... more »

Hello We have a client that wants to replace his current server which has Openserver v5.0.7. We would like to reinstall the same version of OpenServer however as the installation was done a long time ago by people who left the company, we do not have the license information used the first time.
