When I used to use the C64 and the Atari 800xl I like to write programs to draw circles using sin, cos tan and so forth. After 20+ years I just can't seem to remember how I did it. I do know I would know the start and end angle (0 - 359) or degree I wanted on the circle, the center of the circle and the diameter (or is radius) and... more »

Where's the Amiga?
I subscribed to two Amiga-related newsgroups: comp.sys.amiga and aus.computers.amiga. The former is discontinued, and the latter has little activity. What happened? Isn't the Amiga the *best* 16-bit computer ever created? I *really* want to create some Amiga games and perhaps other software and have some questions. :)... more »

Jeri Ellsworth at VCF East 4.0
Last year CBM engineers Bil Herd, Dave Haynie, Bob Russell, and a teleconferencing Chuck Peddle gathered at the Vintage Computer Festival East 4.0 in order to honor 25 years of the Commodore 64. The CBM engineers had their talk on Saturday, June 9, and I was fortunate to be there. Dave Haynie combined... more »

How do I set or clear the Sign Flag?
I'm trying to draw pixels in GEOS and while I have no problem displaying text or bitmap graphics, and using the GraphicsString command, the DrawPoint requires the Sign Flag and Carry Flag to be set. I know SEC sets the Carry Flag, but how can I set the Sign Flag? Also, for those in the know, several Graphics routines ask you to set the... more »

bug fixes by drive ROM updates?
The most recent Commodore ROM update for the 1571 greatly improved the drive's performance when it was installed. I'm specifically interested in differences between V2.74 and V2.80 of the CMD hard drive boot ROM chip. Just what bugs were fixed with the ROM update? (the ROM is said by an EBAY auctioneer to enable the use of internal... more »
