Hello! Do any of you have any favorites when it comes to running an OS on all of your M68K based boards? I am leaning towards Linux, but the one I do have here, (and I have yet to track down the particulars for) I believe it won't work properly on it. NetBSD comes close, followed by that all time favorite of some, CP/M-68K.... more »

Attaching to IRQ interrupts in software

I have a question regarding how the VME Interrupts map to the PC's 16 hardware IRQs. My device is properly setting IRQ level 6, for example, yet I don't understand how to register for this interrupt on my machine. Does this truly just map to hardware interrupt 6? If someone could explain anything regarding this topic, maybe it will hit me.... more »

VME interfacing

Any suggestions on interfacing a Solaris-based server to a VME chassis ? Our server needs to interface with a legacy VME processor via VME shared memory. Our server can be x86 or SPARC. What I have found so far are products that bring the VME into the server via a PCI board: the 801 from GE Fanuc and the 8022 from Nat. Instr.... more »

Power on Backplane VME

Hi, I have a backplane VME Elite of VERO Electronics, 6U with 21 slots; before I apply power (+5 & GND) to the backplane I measured the resistance betwen those pins and I found about 4.5 Ohms. I looked for jumpers on the backplane but I couldnīt find any. There is no device plugged into the backplane.... more »
