Operating Systems and the M68K based boards
Hello! Do any of you have any favorites when it comes to running an OS on all of your M68K based boards? I am leaning towards Linux, but the one I do have here, (and I have yet to track down the particulars for) I believe it won't work properly on it. NetBSD comes close, followed by that all time favorite of some, CP/M-68K.... more »

Attaching to IRQ interrupts in software
I have a question regarding how the VME Interrupts map to the PC's 16 hardware IRQs. My device is properly setting IRQ level 6, for example, yet I don't understand how to register for this interrupt on my machine. Does this truly just map to hardware interrupt 6? If someone could explain anything regarding this topic, maybe it will hit me.... more »

What I have found so far are products that bring the VME into the server via a PCI board: the 801 from GE Fanuc and the 8022 from Nat. Instr.... more »

Power on Backplane VME
Hi, I have a backplane VME Elite of VERO Electronics, 6U with 21 slots; before I apply power (+5 & GND) to the backplane I measured the resistance betwen those pins and I found about 4.5 Ohms. I looked for jumpers on the backplane but I couldnīt find any. There is no device plugged into the backplane.... more »

Call for Wish Lists: CFV4e-based PC and OS
Hi All, I have been developing an OS for about 18 years. With the CFV4e out now having an excellent MMU, it looks like it is time to get serious (again). I would love to have feedback from those of you who would like to give me their opinions on what the ideal desktop PC and OS would be like. Please post your... more »
