Tucson Gluten Free Food Shopping List

This is our Food Shopping List that we hope will aid those new to the special diet needs community, and veterans who are new to the area or who need further ideas. 

Our list is based on suggestions from group members, our readers, and our family's own particular shopping habits here in the Tucson, Arizona area.

Explanation of Local Stores*:

Please note that as I live three blocks from it, when I name Fry's, I am specifically referring to the Fry's Signature Store on Rita Road and Houghton Road; therefore, not all Fry's will carry all the products listed as being usually purchased at Fry's. The Signature Store has a specific larger than normal health foods section, right inside the entry door.  Other Fry's stores about town, as they become remodeled, appear to be decentralizing their health foods areas and instead have scattered said items (if they carry them) in different sections about the stores Also note that the Signature Store has discontinued some product, while adding others in an attempt to update this section. Please note that when I refer to New Life Health Center, it is more specific to the Broadway and Craycroft location; it's closest, relatively speaking, to where I live and the manager there happens to be a Celiac. She is a good resource as she is also corn intolerant. Note that they also offer many "specialty" breads like buns, bagels, and even doughnuts in the Ener-G brand. Their customer service is also impeccable! (-Diana)

Sunflower Market, when mentioned in this list, happens to be the Broadway/Pantano location.

Trader Joe's, when mentioned in this list, is the Speedway at Wilmot location. Note that this particular location has many of their gluten free items, though not all,  tagged with a shelf tag that says "gluten free" to make them easier to find.

Sprout's is located on North Oracle Road. Shop there, then pop into Carraba's, right out front, to peruse their gluten free menu. :)

Whole Foods Market, when mentioned in this list, is the Speedway location. They recently completed the name change from Wild Oats Market.

Wal-Mart, when mentioned in this list, will be the Speedway at Kolb store and the 22nd at Craycroft grocery location. If it is specifically one location of the two, it will be shown in the item listing.

*Many of these stores have more than one location and carry many of these items; this list is location specific, especially to help the new special diet needs shopper, and is not necessarily an endorsement of a particular location
