The shack currently has three working computers: one for Echolink, one for satellite tracking, and one for psk31 and general usage. In the southeast corner of the shack, we have our HF station equipment. The BTI LK-2000 is a linear amplifier, currently not plugged in. This linear amplifier has a large power supply underneath the table. It may take up a lot of space, but it also has a lot of power. Rumor has it that it causes interference, but on the other hand, it is not grounded. So we're going to ground it and then try it out. Our primary HF rig sits on top of the linear amplifier: the ICOM IC-745. It is hooked up to a morse code keyer and a microphone. The HF antenna(s) can be rotated and switched between using the rotator and Antenna switch sitting on top of it. We currently only have two antennas hooked up, but we have 80m and 160m dipoles that aren't up yet. Our HF antennas include:
Our tri-band, Kenwood TS-790A, covers 2-m, 70-cm, and 1.2 GHz ranges. It currently sits on the south side of the shack and is hooked up to a working antenna until we get our second 2m rig working. It's final destination will be the northeast corner of the shack, but the satellite tracking computer. On the east side of the shack, we have a linear amplifier, status unknown (we haven't tried it out yet. On top of it sits our SSB transceiver, the Kenwood TS-820S, but until we get a power cable, it is offline. We could do several things with this once it is working. We could hook it up to the same antennas as our HF rig, with a switch between the two, we could set up a second set of antennas, or we could use it as a portable rig for field day. In the northeast corner by the satellite computer, we have two antennas rotators that we are trying to get working properly. These two satellite antennas are:
We also have a computer set-up for our 6-month old echolink capabilities, and a linux web server. -Information Supplied by Andrew Eldredge KD7OSK in Fall 2003-
