Subject: Mme. Musard & King Willem III of the Netherlands
Does anyone have information about an American-born woman (her maiden
name was Blakeney and she was from Rockland County, New York), Mme.
Musard, whose French husband was a musical conductor and violinist?
She was a mistress of King Willem III and became quite wealthy through
her association with him until she indiscreetly told of his plans in
1867 to sell Luxembourg to France.  She died blind and in an insane
asylum and her American family inherited her large estate.

Thanks,
Rick
