Manny Acta said. "That throw was way too hard. There was no reason for it. I told Dmitri that I was glad he didn't throw it at his face."
Intentionally walking 0-13 Keppinger to load the bases for Griffey is something I wouldn't do, but it almost worked out. I'm thinking Ayala is hurt.
I read elsewhere that Bernadina really isn't cutting it, both at the plate obviously, but not making throws. Is it too early to re-think this situation?
Bernadina looks good in the field - certainly a better CF than Nook Milledge. At this stage of his career, he is proving to be a choking dog at the plate and the number of K's is apalling. Next.

It's hard to make sense of the strategy with the callups. It seems cruel to keep him at leadoff if he's really overmatched. It may be more about getting Guz and Dukes used to 2 and 3, though, as that hasn't hurt them.

He's trying to do too much and probably has Lenny "helping" him. He'll straighten it out given a chance. The 8th spot would be a better spot for him.

8th spot gets crappier pitches to hit and I read he swings at anything. Besides, the 8th spot is taken for today.........
Two effing L's are back in the lineup and the other one's catching. PLoD's recent hitting aside, he should only be a backup 1B if Boone can't go.

True.

If that isn't the work of Lenny, I don't know what is.
Not too suprised that Flores is getting a day off. He's become a bit of a sucker chasing the waste pitch slider away - check swing, appeal, yes he went! repeatedly. Let him think about it for a game. Bergman needing a win - gets FLop at 2nd?? What a waste - didn't Manny see enough on his PH attempt yesterday?

I wish there was a definitive evaluation of the Lenny approach. Sometimes they seem to try being patient, but it's never consistent.
Yeah, I thought Manny had it right by moving Flores to cleanup, and then he hits a slump. Day game, though, but I'd rather see Nieves. Didn't FLop swing at ball four over his head? Arroyo's not a lefty, so that's not it. 2-6 lifetime, but that's not much. Confidence is low.....
