Howdy all, I recently posted about getting rid of my Garmin automotive GPS in favor of the BlackBerry Curve (and other GPS enabled PDA's). But now, I bought a Sprint USB Modem from BestBuy that has a GPS, the Sierra Wireless Compass 597 USB Modem, and it very impressive when used with Google maps. Can you recommend a portable GPS auto navigation unit for me to purchase online in America to be given as a gift to an Italian (carried in luggage)? I've heard that some GPS units that have European maps, while they text in meters and kilometers, still speak the units in "piedi" (i.e., feet) and "miglio" (i.e., mile) instead of in kilometers.... more »

Hi, I'm looking high and low for a GPS (ideally bluetooth, but serial is fine) with a built-in digital compass that actually exports the digital compass reading in the NMEA Stream.
