It wasn't Hubbard that had any difficulties here.  *Some* people
misinterpreted "blinkless" or "no blinking" or other such statements as
meaning other than what they could possibly *ever* have meant.

I've already observed that it is assinine to interpret "blinkless" as
meaning that one cannot blink at all.  It is especially assinine when
one is required to do TR 0 comfortably for two hours.

Your comment, Cornelius, is understandable, but I would suggest that you
may be laying the responsibility in the wrong place.

When we've seen here that Jesse Prince, "Warrior," Gerry Arm$trong, and
several other ex-Sci'ts are *still* convinced that TR's were ever meant
to be done "blinkless" -- despite its assininity, despite the
clarifications made and posted here -- wouldn't you think it more
logical to lay the responsibility for misunderstanding what was meant by
"blinkless" at the feet of those who were, and apparently remain, too
robotic to do any thinking for themselves?

In fact he shouldn't have had to make any clarifications at all.  But
we've seen how some people appear to need clarifications -- and plenty
of them.

In closing I'd like to comment on the "trance-like status" you've
mentioned.  You've not done this drill, and I doubt you'll be doing it
any time soon.

I have done it.  My opinion should be just as valid as that of
ex-Sci'ts, and I would suggest that characterisations of this drill as
trance-like or similar are about the *stupidest* statements I've *ever*
come across on *anything* to do with the subject of Scn.

Instead of granting any importance to others' or my statements, however,
you can read the basic instructions for this drill yourself.  They are
less than a page long.  And they are simple in the extreme.  (Which is
probably why so many people complicate them and then require
explanations and further explanations, and then clarifications and
further clarifications.)

Read these instructions and ask yourself how anyone could possibly learn
to go into a trance-like state or to become hypnotic by sitting in front
of someone and learning to just be there comfortably and confront.

I've done these drills several times.  Each time I've done them, and
each time I've overcome whatever may have been preventing me from just
being there comfortably and confronting, my perception has improved; my
affinity for people has gone up; my willingness to be alive and *awake*
has gone up; my ability and willingness to confront anyone or anything
has gone up -- and I could go on and on and on.

Or don't read the instructions, but just imagine yourself sitting across
from someone and learning, simply by practice, to just sit there
*comfortably* confronting the person in front of you and
whoever/whatever else might be in the environment.

With no undue attention on your body; no discomfort or nervousness; no
compulsion to do anything; just able to sit there comfortably, *wide
awake*, and taking in whatever may be going on.

This is what this drill is about.  It isn't about *anything* else.

As I stated in a previous article in response to Jesse Prince, "Yours
and others' attempts to obfuscate something this simple merely
demonstrate the lengths to which you are all prepared to go to forward a
perverted view of some things in Scn."

There may be things in Scn which require a re-examination and
re-evaluation by Sci'ts.  TR 0 and the rest of the communication drills
is definitely not one of these things.
