the IAS anniversary is held this year at shrine auditorium, in los angeles. this is located conveniently, cedars and the celebrity center are within reasonable travelling distance, so any "extra" pickets, or even a picketing of all three locations, is easily possible within a busy day.
however i'm on the other side of the country, i can't plan or attend such an event. considering the violence of the clams at cedars, picketing this location, while potentially hazardous, is a sure way to show them that they are not master of their own domain, and that the vandalism of spray-painting picket signs will not be successful. i suggest picket signs from "The Code of the Scientologist" which says scientologists must protect free speech. i also suggest, if anyone can get post-it note glue, that multiple signs can be affixed to each picket and ripped off if vandalized.
i believe that pickets are legal protest, and that spray-painting picket signs is basic thuggery and vandalism, and should not only not be tolerated, but indeed actively punished, and if possible, poetically punished.
"The International Association of Scientologists Anniversary is held at a different host city each year, members of the IAS gather to commemorate the founding of the IAS and to rededicate themselves to its aims. The annual IAS freedom awards are presented. This event coincides with the annual convention of IAS delegates."
This year it's at the famous Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Saturday, November 1st. This is a fun event. I go each year. Hope to see many of you there!"
While I was in the Sea Org, and long before the Net was the force it is today, I saw a lone picketer in front of the Shrine with his sign which read "Dianetics can clear your engrams, but only Jesus Christ can save your soul".
I did not see him harassed, osa goons spraypainting his sign, etc. So it can be done (at the Shrine).

Well, if they paint signs, this time it will be on TV. To all of you who have indicatated interest, more details will be forthcoming shortly. There are going to be some *major* surprises for the clams this time. Suggestion as to which scientology bozo we should dedicate the tripple picket to would be appreciated. Keith Henson

Instead of dedicating it to a bozo, it might be better to focus attention on the victims. You could do one location for Lisa MacPherson one location dedicated to Odhran Fortune, and the third to Paullete Cooper. These would represent the three discraces: criminality, coercion, and threats.

A few weeks ago I thought the IAS event was being held in Los Angeles. So, it is at St. Hill!! Oh, well, I'll still have lots of fun in LA.
My mother is coming out from the mid-west to join me and the rest of the family for the event. Should be lots of fun. Lot's of news. And plenty of pictures from today's religious freedom rally in Germany. I heard it was very successful. Lizzy

Just wanted to make sure people knew that the annual event of the International Association of Scientologists was coming up . . the one in NY is November 1. . I think it is that same date around the country, although the event in England, I think, is this weekend. Anyone know the dates of the other events? Any one interested in attending can find out the location by calling their local Scientology organization. If you don't know where that is, check out www.scientology.org and they have a way to help you find it. - D Neil Woods
