BY MICHAEL SNEED SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST

Grrrr! Sneed hears there is friction in the Land of Lincoln.

*Translation: Word is respected historian Richard Norton Smith, who
heads the new Lincoln Museum in Springfield, has run up against the
powerful Cellinis, power brokers who reportedly consider themselves
Springfield's version of the Medicis.

Word is Julie Cellini wife of Republican power broker, who chairs the
Illinois Historic Preservation Agency board of directors, which oversaw
the development and construction of the museum, is not enthralled with
the way Smith is running the museum she is credited with getting built.
And powerful husband Bill reportedly concurs.

Rumor has it the Cellinis (GOP power brokers) asked Gov. Blagojevich to
get rid of Smith, but Sneed hears that's not true. But Smith fans fear
the Cellinis' pressure may force the scholar to pull up stakes, causing
Illinois to lose a national treasure.

Don't bet on it. Gov. Blago fully supports Smith. Word is the Cellinis
may be tiring of Smith's name being constantly attached to the museum,
which is now breaking attendance records and hit the $1 million mark in
sales since it opened in mid-April.

But one thing is for sure. Gov. Blago does not want to alienate the
heavy-hitting Cellinis.

The Republicans of today prefer the Duopoly that has presented us
with only the Bush dynasty or the Gore dynasty for choices. Abe Lincoln
was a 3rd party and a Deist candidate that help establish the
Republican Party of inclusiveness. Somehow the Republicans ignore their
roots and are now exclusive. You're a not the party of Abe Lincoln
anymore. Abe Lincoln would never be voted in by today's Republicans
because he was a Deist and a moral man

Democrats haven't changed in all these years.  They said that the
President was fighting the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong
time, and called him an ape and a murderer and a liar!  Which
democrats?: Take your pick.  They said it one hundred and forty years
ago, and they are saying it today.  The reason for this is:

DEMOCRATS ARE IN POLITICS FOR ONE SOLE REASON:

TO HARNESS THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENABLING
THEIR PERVERSE LIFESTYLES BY PASSING LAWS THAT MAKE THEMSELVES
INVISIBLE THROUGH A LEGAL SYSTEM THEY WANT TO CONSTRUCT TO BE AS
IMMORAL, AND RUTHLESS AND LAWLESS AS THEMSELVES.
