Hi, I have a small portable CD burner that accepts flash memory cards, meant primarily to transfer photos from an SD card to a CD-R, which it does well. Why would a product be made so as to require administrative privileges in order for the Settings to changable? And why wouldn't the product warn that settings changes will not take effect because of lack of privileges? The latter would have saved months of trouble-shooting (not full time, of course, but periodically). It all seems... more »

LG GCC-4243N reads CDs but won't read DVDs anymore

Hi, I just replaced my hard drive on my Dell 600m, so I had to reinstall Windows XP SP2 and all my drivers, etc. Everything seemed to go OK, BUT the CD/DVD drive (HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4243N) in my 600m will no longer read DVDs of any kind, not data and not movies. It used to read DVDs before with no problem.... more »

I have a Lite On LTR40125S which is 48X/40X/12X. I purchased some Memorex High speed CD-RW disks with recording speeds up to 12X. I am using Nero 5 as that is what came with the burner. I am able to erase these disks, but after what appears to have been a successful; write, it throws the Lite On LTR40125S into a locked up... more »
