I am deeply saddened to be forced to need a home for my 'dale. He is
two years old, groomed, current on all vaccines, hwp, and neutered. He
is trained on the hidden fence, and has basic obedience. His only bad
habits are he loves the trash if it is available and likes to jump up
on all new visitors. He is also like every other dale I know, has

IMO, you're making a huge mistake. You are thinking about how your puppy is going to you along with cats, which is obviously important to your decision BUT the problem is not the age your puppy is now, the fights between your Dobe and your puppy will begin at your puppy gets older. As your puppy matures he will naturally challenge the Dobe for top position. There will be fights. If you are not there to supervise, they could be extremely serious. They will be serious fights even if you are there but at least then you will be in a position to (hopefully) stop the fight.

My thoughts on the matter--The younger the pup, the easier to blend him in
with cats. He will no doubt take the lead off your Dobie and how he treats
the cat. Dobie may even put the new pup in his place if he goes for one of
the cats. A well trained dog often exhibits that kind of behavior. My two

Hi...My eight month old male Airedale takes deep long drinks, that lasts him
for hours, depending on his activity or the temp. This is my fifth Dale
and they all liked to drink come to think of it. I don't think this should
be a problem.
If in doubt...check with your vet.
Good luck
Mike
----- Original Message -----

Hello - I am new to this group, so please bear with me. I have a 7
month old ADT by the name of Guinness (He was born on St Patricks Day)
I also have a Bouvier female about 8 years old.
My question is: Does this breed drink a lot of water or is this a
trait that is particular to him? I know my Bouvie drinks a lot, but
