The AABTS is a non-profit organization incorporated in Michigan under the Michigan Nonprofit Corporation Act.  The corporation is a non-profit corporation, but donations to the AABTS are non tax-deductible because it is not considered a charitable organization.  The State of Michigan contains many provisions in the nonprofit corporation act that say "unless otherwise stated in the by-laws or articles of incorporation" - these are default "by-laws" for the AABTS unless we specifically call out something different in our by-laws.  Many of our provisions are specifically stated in our by-laws.
