I was in Indianapolis for CBA Advance from January 30 until February
2. On February 3 I will teach at Miami University, Hamilton Branch for
the Hamilton Writer's Group. The Dayton Christian Scribes have invited
me to teach at their March 8 meeting. The topic for both sessions
covers common writing mistakes and how to correct them.

I turned in material to a major publisher for consideration on a
ghostwriting project. Now, the wait begins.

I've barely returned from an excellent-but-demanding trip. I flew to
Chicago, rented a car and drove to Aurora, IL for an hour-long TV
interview, back to Chicago for an in-station radio interview, and on
to South Bend, IN for a TV interview, before I went to Indianapolis
for the Christian Booksellers' Advance. I did a 15-minute video
interview there. I returned the car at Indy and flew home.

Every year the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA)
lists the 50 top-selling books in the Christian market. Three of my
books appear on that list: 90 Minutes in Heaven (#12); Touchdown
Alexander (#28) and a third unaccredited one is midway between those
two. On the latest CBA list of sales for January, 90 Minutes is #1 and
Touchdown Alexander is #7 in the inspirational category.

www.Crosswalk.com continues to print a devotion of mine every week.
They told me that for the week of January 21, my devotional was the
most read article on their site.

In mid-January, I conducted a mentoring clinic in Los Angeles. While I
was there, Rhonda Fleming, flame-haired star of 1950s-1960s films
asked me to meet with her to discuss writing her autobiography. She
decided not to write it, but it was a delightful time. Go to our
picture site and see what she looks like at age 83.

January has been a great month for doing new things. Teaching at
Taylor University in Fort Wayne, IN stretched me a bit, but it was a
dynamic experience. If any of you are looking for a university that is
highly successful in turning out great writers, I invite you to take a
look at their program. Dr. Dennis Hensley, multi-published author,
directs the program.

I finished When the Nile Runs Red for Moody publishers and A Texas
Legacy Christmas for Barbour. Avon contracted for a historical, and
now I'm busy with the edits for that book.

2007 promises to be a grand year for new adventures, new books, and
always an opportunity to witness the love and grace of our Lord.

I look forward to connecting with readers in a variety of settings in
February.

On Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. EST, I was a guest on the Talking Book Show, an
online discussion where I shared with listeners how to empower
themselves and others through writing.

On February 17, I'll participate in the Sharon Baptist Church's
(Richmond, VA) book club discussion of my second novel, Nothing But
the Right Thing. Three days later, I'll deliver a keynote speech to
the Cavalier Chapter of the American Business Women's Association and
sign books after the program. I am the new Richmond area coordinator
for American Christian Fiction Writers and will host an inaugural
meeting in the next couple of weeks. If you're in the area and would
like to participate, please contact me at st...@stacyhawkinsadams.com.

Look for my cover story on Donna Richardson in the January/February
issue of Gospel Today and a brief article on breast cancer and
nutrition in Heart & Soul magazine.
