On November 14, I'll participate in the Fairfield (Ohio) Community
Foundation's annual event, "Celebrating the Arts." The program
starts at 5:30 and is held at Receptions on Boymel Drive in Fairfield.
I'll display my books and speak about the craft of writing.
On December 9, I will speak for the Boone County (KY) Jaycees Christmas
Prayer Breakfast. The event honors the clergy of Boone County and
attendance is typically about 125. I've been asked to speak on,
"The True Meaning of Christmas." Any ideas?
I've decided to limit my speaking engagements in 2007 so I can work on
several book projects. I'll still be available for local engagements.

On October 16, 2006, I received the Doctor of Literature degree (DLit)
from Richmond Virginia Seminary because of  "distinguished service in
the field of literature as a noted author and speaker."
Don Piper (for whom I wrote 90 Minutes in Heaven) will appear on the
Today Show during sweeps week (November 14-15). The book has hit #22 on
the New York Times best-seller list. On November 7, Penguin/Berkeley
releases my second book with Don, Daily Devotions Inspired by 90
Minutes in Heaven.
Except for a few radio interviews, I get to stay home until my
mentoring clinic in Walnut (near Los Angeles), January 17-21 (and it's
full). The next clinic after that is Chattanooga, March 21-24. I still
have two openings.

November is another busy month of speaking.  I'm an extrovert and this
is one of the most pleasant parts of my ministry because it gives me a
chance to connect with readers. Here's where I'll be this month:
· Minnesota (Roseville, Bloomington)
· Iowa  (Knoxville, Sioux City, West Des Moines)
· Nebraska (Omaha, Kearney, Auburn, Papillion)
For those who live in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, I'll
participate in an event at the Mall of America with eight other
multi-published Christian authors about writing for the inspirational
market, November 3, 7:00 in the Rotunda. For more
info:http://www.mallofamerica.com/adults_event_detail_
objectname_christian_authors_network.aspx.
As always, if you happen to be in any of these areas, I would love to
see you.

This month I'll participate in a media and publishing conference, lead
a writing workshop, and personalize copies of my books for holiday
gifts.
The conference will be held November 10 in Richmond, VA and is called
"The Art of Noise: Leveraging the Best of New Media"
(www.theartofnoise.biz/index.htm). It will focus on trends in
marketing, publishing, and web and broadcast technology.
On Saturday, November 25, I will sign copies of Nothing But the Right
Thing and Speak To My Heart from 2 to 4 p.m. at Books-A-Million in the
Potomac Mills outlet in Woodbridge, VA.  I'll meet aspiring writers at
the Glen Allen Public Library in suburban Richmond, on Tuesday,
November 28, for a workshop on writing from a faith-based perspective.
I'm also signing up book clubs around the country for 30-minute
speakerphone chats if they've read Speak To My Heart or Nothing But the
Right Thing, and would like to discuss the novel with me.  If your club
is interested, please e-mail me at st...@stacyhawkinsadams.com.

By the time you read this newsletter, I'll be in Kenya or the Sudan,
Africa. My laptop is at home, so I'm taking careful notes about the
sights, the people, the events, and the needs. Once I return, I'll
place my journal on my website.
Glorieta Writer's Conference was beautiful this year. I met writers
from all over the country who work diligently to develop their writing
skills. When I wasn't teaching or meeting with writers one-on-one, I
enjoyed the beautiful mountains, crisp cool air-and Starbucks.
Last weekend I was in Angleton, Texas, to conduct a women's conference
for a group of churches. The women were amazing and gave so much of
their time and talents, sprinkled with a generous portion of love. My
topic was "Girlfriends: the Art of Sisterhood." Laughter, tears, great
food, and discussing how to be a godly girlfriend highlighted the
weekend.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, take the time to reach out to
a stranger or someone who needs a family.

I'm doing a lot of conference speaking about the obstacles and
challenging circumstances in my series, Donkeys Still Talk, based on my
book. I have contracted with Moody Publishers for two books. Meet Me at
the Well: a Woman's Journey to Personal Renewal, is scheduled for the
fall of, 2007. A Month of Sundays will be a 31-day devotional book on
living a life of worship.
