i was just curious as to how the search was going?  i have thought
quite a bit about the subject since turning 50.  kind of a water-shed
year.  you realize that there are more years behind you than ahead and
that the dreams and aspirations of your youth are no longer
possibilities.  i have come to the conclusion that the meaning of life
will either be revealed to you in the moment of your death or you will
discover that there is no meaning--that we are just some higher form of
bacteria inhabitating a rock floating in space and in the grand scheme
of things we are nothing.  in the short run, i have tried to adopt the
philosphy of "living in the now".  i know it is kind of corny and new
age, but the past cannot be changed and the future is yet to occur, so
what else is there but now?  i would like to hear how your search is
progressing.
