Maintenance/Replacement Schedule
Does anyone have a recommended part replacement/maintenance schedule?  I've looked through the Sheldon Brown "bible" and either couldn't find it or searched with the wrong words.   I'm most interested in when I should look into replacing derailleurs, shifters & brakes.  I've got over 20,000 miles on my group and with the couple of breaks, wondered if I should start just replacing parts BEFORE they break!  Think I'm already pretty good with chain & cable replacements, but the bigger stuff has me thinking now.... more »

Dart Procedures
To all Dart Captains and Riders: There are several chores required of us prior to riding the upcoming Dart. Dan is apparently not available right now and if he was, he'd probably be busy with Texas Time Trial stuff. Ssince I started this thing, I'll act in his stead to collect up the required paperwork. Yes,... more »

Recovery ride
Hey Randos,   I'm riding  "Mad Ducks To Mean Eagles" Sunday morning and would welcome additional riders.   The route is 61 miles.  Starts in downtown Grapevine, goes across the dam and north on to Denton and back.   Come out and get in a few extra miles for credit.  Wavier, cards and Q's will be handed out at the start.   So, all you have to do is show up and ride. ... more »

Charlie
OK, so on a different (sorta) note... 1 - Yes, Charlie, 50 is old - DEAL WITH IT!  You're just gonna be a slow, toddery, lost ol' fart after Sunday! (oh please god, let me be able to keep up with the slow, toddery, lost ol' farts?) 2 - Nobody could EVER be as old as Val 3 - Jerry you "think" Sophie will call you Granddaddy, but that won't last....PeePa is just too right (and we'll make sure she can say it!)... more »

Wylie to Yantis
Jeff Elmer and I rode the very enjoyable Wylie to Yantis 230K perm today. Having missed the night brevet :-( , it was nice to get some make-up miles. Today being the opening day of Dove season, we saw (and heard) many hunters in the corn fields between Lavon and Caddo Mills. Fortunately it's not yet cyclist season.... more »

Lake to Lake Permanent
Robin & I would like to thank Bill Fox for a wonderful 300K permanent route. We chose to ride a 300K in the daylight instead of the scheduled night brevets; we didn't want to alter our sleep patterns for the weekend. It's great that LSR provides a choice. The Lake to Lake is my favorite 300K. We had plentiful chip seal, hills & even a... more »
