SHIBBOLETHS DISCUSSION FORUM
שבולת
PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NO LONGER MAKING USE OF THIS FORUM TO CIRCULATE MESSAGES. INSTEAD, I AM UPDATING THE COMPANION BLOG PHILOSOPHY'S OTHER (http://philosophysother.blogspot.com/). IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE A DAILY DIGEST LISTING THE UPDATES MADE, PLEASE VISIT THE URL ABOVE AND SIGN UP BY SCROLLING DOWN AND ADDING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE DIALOGUE BOX ON THE LEFT. YOU MAY ALSO LEAVE COMMENTS, OF COURSE, AT THE BLOG.
This Forum has three main goals:
- to explore all aspects of Philosophy and Theory, including tracing the history of Philosophy and Theory (discussions of particular philosophers or theorists, specific phases and periods, and schools of thought), studying their development in particular socio-cultural contexts (e.g. African as opposed to Asian thought), and examining particular topics, problems or issues of interest to philosophers and theorists (concerning, for example, the arts, communication, education, gender, geography, history, knowledge, metaphysics, the mind, body and self, morality, politics and the law, race, reasoning, religion, the natural sciences, sexuality, society and culture and, last but not least, the nature of philosophy and theory themselves).;
- to disseminate calls for papers, announcements of recent publications, news of forthcoming events, conference reports, and other information pertinent to the discussion of Philosophy and Theory; and
- last but not least, to give readers of the journal Shibboleths: a Journal of Comparative Theory the opportunity to provide feedback on particular essays and reviews and, indeed, to comment on any issue that may arise in the pages of this journal.
