Ferret Shelters

Hey, does anyone out there know of any big ferret shelters in Perth,
Western Australia.
I only know of individual ferret rescue board people, not any actual
shelters. I'd love to get involved with one to help out and maybe even
bring home some more little furry pals.

Welcome! I have two ferrets of mass destruction named Ben and Jerry.
They're brothers, and turned 2 on January 2. I got them from a shelter
in Michigan where my other three ferrets (who've passed on) came from.
Hope that you get a ferret-friendly landlord soon.

The only thing I would strongly suggest is that you read the policy
carefully BEFORE you purchase for ferrets. Most insurances do not
cover the big diseases that ferrets get and it is far better to have a
savings plan than to waste your money on ineffective insurance.

Read the message on ferret bills,so sorry ,hope you're ferrets are doing better.Ferret lovers all know about vet bills & I can relate to the staggering amounts.When my own doctor bill is paid,I am truly going to check into the animal insurance groups.There was a couple groups that covered ferrets.I myself have 8 ferrets.The cost for insurance did not seem to exceed the bills I pay for my ferret kids.Will let you know the costs or groups.

Kathy,It took me creating a separate bank account to figure in with all
the expenses for age-related illness in my ferrets, such as adrenal
tumors and insulinomas. I advise everyone do so, and to keep it
strictly for the ferrets, as their treatments still come at "exotic"
prices. J

Live Journal is a blog community. Among the journals is one I joined
devoted to ferrets. I went on to describe having 3 terminally ill
ferrets, a 4th visit to the vet in 2 wks for unexplained weight loss
