Hello again singers - it is time for a reminder about our next RUSH
gathering, on Saturday July 12th, at the newly-reconfigured home of
Joy Kaubin and John Anderson, in the peaceful lakeside community of
Lake Pleasant.

A special concert is coming! I think all of you have heard of Bill Staines, creator of "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir," "River," "Roseville Fair," and many many more songs, maker of 22 CDs so far, and one of the country's favorite folksingers. He is coming to Amherst at 7pm on Sunday evening, May 11th, at the Nacul Center. This is the time and place of the monthly Song and Story Swap run by the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society, but the usual S&S Swap is going to be displaced this time by the Bill Staines concert. Be there, or regret it! This is a great guy.

Corinne West & the Posse play Northampton, Friday, May 16th

Hailing from California’s Sierra Mountains, Corinne West’s dynamism onstage is undeniable. Spinning tales with a voice part velvet & part grit, the emotional power, raw soulfulness & understated beauty of Corinne’s music has her on the brink of stardom. Her expressive vocals and songs pierce to the core and soothe the soul. At turns subtle and sophisticated, unbridled and passionate, her voice captures and conveys both the fragility & strength of the human spirit & translates the mysteries of the heart into something tangible. And if that’s not magic, what is? Her sound has been referred to as “utterly spellbinding,” “radiant” & “extraordinarily beautiful” by reviewers worldwide. Her style combines the high energy of bluegrass, the old-time vibe of traditional Americana and the backbone of hard country. Corinne’s debut record, “Bound for the Living,” resulted in international acclaim. Her follow-up record, “Second Sight,”

Hello agian, RUSH community - we have two RUSH events scheduled, both on the Northampton side of the river (since we had two in a row on the Amherst side - this is fair play!) The first is on Sunday afternoon May 18, at the home of Stan and Joanna where we have met before and had a lovely potluck outside in their yard in the sunshine - so we will expect a return of that fine weather and food on May 18th. Here is Stan's message:
