I'll run it because it's the site of my first ultra and I go every year, family in the area, etc. But I agree, $135 is nuts. For a shirt, medal, and aid stations that are adequate but not anything to write home about?

10 is it for the Dooms. We've set a limit. My first was 97 and I'd be there already if I hadn't missed some with deployments. Susan needs 4 more to make 10. I just hope it stays below $200.00 until the ever lovely Mrs. Doom joins the 500 club.
No more JFKs after the 500 club. The price and distance to drive are making the pre race more of a pain then the run.

With the boring course, and now this gouging of pricing, this race has
permanently dropped off my radar. I doubt they'll miss my entry. The
jump in prices for ultras is alarming and the catering to the runners
like little babies is hokey. I don't want 20 aid stations filled with
more food than a Christmas party. I'll personally continue searching
out the more challenging and reasonably priced races like the SC
series that Terri H. puts on. She asked for donations for the
Chatooga River 50k; I gave her 25 bucks and she acted like I just
handed her the keys to a new Porsche.
JFK is the Disney Marathon of ultras.
