Subject: Remote Desktop
Whenever I am connected to my desktop using Remote Desktop, Google
Maps does not work. I get a page with a bunch of squares with missing
images. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I access via Remote Desktop every day, so it is not an issue.

What happens when you access WITHOUT Remote Desktop?  Help > Maps Not
Loading is an excellent place to start.

Hi JR,

Is it the remote machine that you can't access GM on or your own?
I'm guessing from your comment that when remote isn't running GM works
ok?

I use PCHelpware and VNC and at times I have had some problems.

However there have been some other problems with maps not loading that
you may have read about and some work arounds.

Also you could try an IE without any add-ons or activex to see
On your icon that you clk to start IE
Hold your ALT key and clk the ICON (the properties window will open)
In the target line add  -extoff note there is a space between the end
and the - so it will look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

Clk it and see if it loads
Or try firefox 3 (sometimes works when IE doesn't)

You may have already tried some of these ... but hope it helps ;)

Thanks for the replies.

I often connect to my home computer using Remote Desktop. When I am at
home (not using Remote Desktop), Google Maps works fine. However, when
I am using Remote Desktop it did not work.

Based on some of the suggestions here, I reset all of my Internet
Security options in IE to the lowest level possible and the Google
Maps seems to be working now. Not sure what actually fixed it but it
is something is the Security settings must have been causing a
problem.

I do recall that I did not have the problem in Firefox.

Thanks - JR
