Logging onto my account shows all the correct info I have entered for
my business, description, website etc. However you cannot see any of
this on a normal google search. It has the correct listing but refers
to a business that was previously located there and closed down. I
have verified my account, not sure how to procees. This must have
happened to others

I have a problem that will not go away. When you type my last name into Google Maps, it shows the following listing:
Law Offices of Mathew Kobliska PLLC 37000 Grand River Ave Farmington, MI 48335 (248) 476-6900 ntlmj.com
Everything with the exception of the name relates to a competing firm. I have never been affiliated with this firm. As it stands, searchers for my name and office are being directed to another place of business. My correct name is:

I can't claim it. Google calls the other firm's number to verify, not the correct one.

Don't go through your own google account number. In fact, sign out. Now go to the lawyers Farmington MI. If the offending item is on the front page of the google maps listing, do not choose the website, click on more info. If no website, then just click on the link. To make it easier, you may want to click on the for more results at the bottom of the map and to the right. Now go to the offending item and click on the little color pointer. You should now get the google info on that account. It should include a little offer to edit. Click on edit. Once there, you will have a chance to claim the location and suspend it.
