GD Consumer 5.8.0809.08522 interferes with starting Cygwin services (cygrunsrv)

Hi:
When GD Consumer 5.8.0809.08522 installed and Cygwin service starter
cygrunsrv.exe is starting, cygrunsrv fails to start its child process
(the service you want to run like sshd or inetd, etc). Older versions
of GD Consumer 5.8.x work without this interference.

IE6 hangs...

When ever I run googledesktop, IE6 just rejects to work. Even the open
IE windows donot process anything. New IE windows donot open.
iexplore.exe processes keep accumulating for each time I try to open a
new IE window, but the window doesn't show up.

I have 2 computer at home and one in the office, and I found the
gadget of google desktop
tasks and scratch pad very useful, but actually very often one of
these computer don't show the updated content. Igoogle, gmail works
fine, so I can't forgot password....

chris, this is a serious issue for google indeed - and should be
addressed like this. i am waiting for months for you to fix it - and i
will migrate to other product in few weex if you won't, most probably
to either to copernic or sleuthand. i am GD user for years - but i

Only able to access and see one page of results

After upgrading to Google Desktop 5.8.0809.23506-en-pb, I am only able
to see one page of search results. And the ability to view additional
pages is unavailable.
I am using 32bit Vista and IE7. The results indicate that there are

Index encryption and Windows logon password change

Hi,
It seems that for Google Desktop Enterprise, the index files are
encrypted using Windows' userid and password. When the password is
changed, the index files can no longer be read by GDE so the directory
under C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data

My desktop search changed to Chinese

The text fields were previously in english, but this morning I opened
desktop search they were turned in Chinese - Im at China - but
everything else in my PC is in english - I cannot read Chinese so it
is very confusing.

Google desktop searches my email only--no other files

Google desktop search used to work great. Now it searches my email
only--no other files. It does not find any .doc, .ppt, or anything
except Outlook emails. On occasion it may find a .pdf, but mostly it
finds emails--definitely no .doc or .docx. I have uninstalled and
