A seemingly minor annoyance

I use Google as my homepage, and I have recently signed up for a gmail
account. Now my rather ridiculous gmail address shows at the top of
the screen every time I use Google, which means every time I use my
computer.
I have searched Google Help and found that the only way to avoid this

I usually read my email via my Windows Mobile Smartphone, but as of
right now I tried to manually send/receive from my phone and I got
this message:

Gmail time off

Hello there
I've been having some trouble with Gmail's time stamps. A few days
earlier, it was one hour off. Now, it's two. When I check the timezone
in Account Settings, it's correct. I use -0300, for Brazil. And my e-
mails are dated two hours ahead, as if it were -0100, I dunno.

The kicker here is this:
The recipients not only included me, but my husband, and his secretary

Older version default

When I open my inbox this always defaults to older version. The same
applies for contacts. I can only enter a new contact if I click on
older version and change this to new version. I am using Internet
Explorer 7. How can I change my settings so that new version becomes

Hi,
I logged on to my Gmail account this morning & i was surprized to find
that many mails form my Inbox, Sent Items & Chats were deleted. My
trash is Completely empty now.
I have lost on to some important stuff here.
Why has this happened?
Is there some way to recover my mails?
