Since the performance boost message and the link to blog was added to
the login page, thee loading of the login page takes an extra 15-20
seconds waiting on the gmail blog.

Can this be removed? It is VERY annoying!

Actually, it can't. The blog news/feed comes after the page has loaded
for the most part of it.

I agree with HotRods--even though the feed loads after the page is
done, it hangs my Firefox 2 browser for 2-5 seconds, with a CPU spike.
I can't do anything in the browser during that time (it kills
performance on all the tabs). That feed is mostly useless. Please
REMOVE!
